Plastech Innovation is a start-up business founded by Natasha Boulding (Learning and Teaching in HE, 2017), Scott Bush (Chemistry, St Mary’s College, 2015-19) and Phil Buckley (Learning and Teaching in HE, Hatfield College, 2017-18), and the first ever student spinout business from Durham University. Using Plastech patent-pending technology, the business transforms plastic waste that was bound for landfill or incineration into a sustainable sand-replacement material for the manufacture of concrete with a much-reduced carbon footprint.
