New sustainability-focused scholarships will be established and student entrepreneurship enhanced thanks to a donation from tech pioneer, former Netflix executive and Durham alumnus Dr Neil Hunt.

The Fellowship is a landmark partnership between Reuters, Durham University and Tina Brown CBE, award-winning journalist and widow of acclaimed newspaper editor and Durham alumnus Sir Harry Evans.   

Renowned archaeologist Professor Dame Rosemary Cramp has been honoured with a blue plaque at her former Durham City home.

Castle has made history by becoming the first college of a UK university to send an item – our beloved Castle teddy – to space.
