MHL 454, Durham University Business School

On the opening day of COP26, alumna and NatWest Group CEO, Alison Rose (History, St Aidan's College,1991), will be receiving an honorary Doctor of Civil Law from Durham University for her outstanding contribution to banking, entrepreneurship, climate change, and public life.

NatWest Group is a Principal Partner of the COP26 programme alongside partners such as GSK, Unilever, Hitachi, and Microsoft.

In 2019, HM Government published The Alison Rose Review of Female Entrepreneurship identifying ways in which barriers to success in business leadership and the start-up economy could be removed and a more inclusive marketplace created. She was also recently named 2021 Business Green ‘Leader of the Year’ due to her global efforts to tackle climate change through innovative banking and finance initiatives.

As part of her visit to Durham, Alison will give a special guest lecture at Durham University Business School, hosted by the Executive Dean (Business), Professor Susan Hart, on ‘Entrepreneurship and the Green Economy’.

Durham students are invited to join us in person for this lecture in MHL454 at Durham University Business School subject to a successful test to participate. The lecture will also be available via Zoom.
