Join fellow US alumni to hear from one of Durham’s most celebrated sportsmen, Will Greenwood (Hatfield ’94.) Will is recognized as one of England’s greatest rugby players, as well as one of the sport’s most engaging, intelligent and witty characters. He is the second highest try scorer in English rugby history, and was a critical member of the England team that won the rugby World Cup in 2003, finishing the tournament joint top try scorer with five to his name. Will is an economics graduate and former City trader with HSBC, and now writes for the Daily Telegraph and is a commentator for Sky Sports.
Will will talk about the lessons he learnt from his Durham experience and how it equipped him for life after Durham, both inside and outside of sport.
Will will be joined by Mark Brian, Durham’s current Director of Sport, who will bring us up to date with the current era of Durham sport, why it is viewed as the top team sport university in the UK and one of the top three overall sporting higher education institutions in the UK, and the recent £32m new sports facility build.
The conversation with Will and Mark will be facilitated by NY-based Durham graduate and varsity rugby player, David Brown, Hild & Bede ‘88
