Inspired by the past, illuminating the present: an introduction to Northumbria ‘from the Tees to the Tweed’

Thursday 4 March 2021, 6pm (GMT)

Join us and Joanna Park-Tonks (University College, 2000) for an event with best-selling author Dr Dan Jackson, who will be presenting highlights from his book The Northumbrians - North East England and its People - A new history. Dr Jackson will shine a light on key aspects of North Eastern heritage and its greatest asset - its people. A chance to reacquaint yourself with this history of where you studied and uncover hidden depths.

Dan Jackson is a founding member of the Northumbria WW1 Commemoration Project, which received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. Author of Popular Opposition to Irish Home Rule in Edwardian Britain, he has written for The New Statesman and appeared on the BBC’s Making History and Who Do You Think You Are?
