Music Durham Cathedral and Gala Concerts
Save the date for 2019’s end of year Music Durham concerts. Arguably the highlight of the musical calendar, this year we present all the Music Durham ensembles in two wonderful evenings, under the exciting theme of ‘Stage and Screen’. These are always undeniably fantastic concerts, showcasing both the level and breadth of musical talent at Durham University. Tickets are on sale now, don’t miss out!
Act 1

Saturday’s line-up features singing groups, from Chamber Choir through to Gospel Choir, Brass Band, and Classical Ensemble, among others. We are also delighted to be welcoming Sir Thomas Allen to sing alongside Orchestral Society, just months after his final performance after over 45 years at the Royal Opera House.

Date: Monday 10 June, 7.30pm
Venue: Gala Theatre
Tickets: £10-£15

Expect another exciting array of musicians on Monday evening, with groups ranging from the likes of Big Band and Northern Lights, to Palatinate Orchestra and Choral Society, plus many more. We are very excited to be bringing this large-scale concert to the Gala Theatre for the first time, so don’t miss out.
A Symphonic Journey
Durham University Orchestral Society invite you to our biggest concert of the year, held in Durham Cathedral.
Enjoy a spectacular evening of music from DUOS’ Symphony and Chamber orchestras, featuring symphonies from Prokofiev and Saint-Saëns, as well as Mahler’s titanic Symphony No.5. The result of a year’s hard work, it is definitely not one to miss!
The concert will take place on Saturday 22 June at 7.30 pm.
Tickets are £16 for adults and £12 for concessions and are available for purchase until 5pm on the day of the concert online at musicdurham.org/events .
