Update - Friday 25 September

Thank you so much to everyone who has shown their support for Palatinate with a donation or by sharing our giving pages.

We are delighted and extremely grateful to announce that we have reached a total of £3,530 after some very generous donations - this will allow us to pay for the printing of newspapers in Michaelmas Term. Thank you to Dan Rivers for running a Go Fund Me and to others such as Jeremy Vine for his generous, ongoing support.

However, this is not the end; the donation page will continue and further support is still very much appreciated. Future donations will go into protecting Palatinate from continued uncertainty over this next year, as well as allowing future editors to invest in software, equipment, and outreach. This will help current and future editorial teams to make more meaningful connections with our alumni and friends.

Thank you again for supporting student journalism during this challenging and fast-moving time.

Best wishes

Launch of the ‘Friends of Palatinate’

As many of our readers will be aware, Durham Students' Union is unable to fund Palatinate for Michaelmas Term 2020.

A number of alumni and friends have expressed their support to help us raise the £3200 needed immediately to print our Michaelmas Term editions - an unbroken tradition going back to 1948!

In response, we have launched the Friends of Palatinate fund which will provide funding for immediate print needs and, potentially, in future to expand our reach with Palatinate supporters and alumni.

On behalf of all of us here at Palatinate, thank you so much for supporting independent student journalism.
We deeply appreciate your consideration to give generously to this appeal.

Best wishes

Editors-in-Chief, Palatinate
