Remembering alumnus George Alagiah

We have been deeply saddened to learn of the death of our alumnus George Alagiah (Politics, Van Mildert College, 1975-78; Honorary Doctorate of Civil Law, 2007).

Durham alumna awarded prestigious Kennedy scholarship

Durham alumna Philippa (Pippa) Frizzelle (History, Hatfield College, 2014-18) has been awarded the Kennedy scholarship to pursue further studies at Harvard Law School later this year.

Mission to explore the Universe’s most energetic moments

Our researchers are part of an international team launching a new satellite that will observe some of the most energetic objects and events in the cosmos, potentially unlocking answers to some of the biggest questions of the evolution of the Universe and the structure of spacetime.
