Dunelm Society invites you to the 2020 Annual Dinner with a difference! Unfortunately, we cannot meet for a dinner this year but we are hosting an online event featuring Durham’s 11th Chancellor and renowned writer Bill Bryson interviewing alumna Alderman of the City of London Alison Gowman (Law, Van Mildert College, 1974-77).
We are delighted to have Graham Barker Chairman of Dunelm Society, along with a performance from some of our talented students.
Alison Gowman is a consultant at DLA Piper UK LLP following her City career as a senior partner specialising in real estate. She has served on numerous City Corporation committees and is currently the Deputy Chair of the Green Finance Institute. She is the Co-Chair of the COP26 Finance Taskforce. She is a Governor of the Museum of London as well as member of the City of London Police Authority Board (Chair of its Professional Standards and Integrity Subcommittee). She is a Director of the Museum of London Archaeology and Chair of the Executive Committee of the London Road Safety Council as well as trustee of Trust for London. She is tipped to be one of the two Sheriffs of the City of London in September 2021.
Please note: Bill Bryson and our student performers have pre-recorded their parts specially for the event.
